Get ready for the simulation of turbomachinery! CFD simulations are an indispensable tool for the development, optimisation and operation of turbomachinery and gain even more importance in the digital age, – keyword “Digital Twins”. To address the increasing requirements, ISimQ offers in cooperation with CADFEM a two-day course and workshop on the “Design, Simulation and Optimisation of Turbomachines”.
The simulation of the fluid flow in turbomachines is particularly challenging because of the high accuracy requirements and the complex flow phenomena due to rotor-stator interactions. These challenges can make the way to success tedious and “thorny”. In the seminar, we show how engineers and researchers can avoid dead ends and produce useful simulation results more quickly.

Eight course units provide information on all relevant topics: Design and geometry modelling, mesh generation, selection of turbulence and rotor-stator interaction models, CFD solver settings, post-processing and analysis, quality control and optimisation. In parallel to learning about the theory, the course attendees apply “best practices” to radial and axial turbomachines.
The seminar aims at project managers, development and simulation engineers as well as at researchers who develop turbomachinery, optimise it or use it in their products and want to simulate it with the help of numerical methods.
The attendance fee for the two-day seminar is 1.300 €. Members of research institutes, universities and participants in mid-career training programs receive a discount of 30 %, Bachelor and Master students of 80 %.
